Connect the video output to the capture input.
- Connect the PC’s HDMI output to the capture device’s HDMI input.
- Connect the UVC capture device to the iPad’s USB-C port. Follow its instructions for cables and power.
- Open Just Monitor and allow camera access when asked. iPadOS uses this permission for external video capture; the app is not intended to film with the built-in camera.
- Check the PC’s display settings. Mirroring and desktop extension depend on the PC’s video output and configuration.
A direct USB cable between the PC and iPad is not enough. An ordinary USB-C-to-HDMI output adapter cannot replace a capture device. USB-C video sources may need additional compatible adapters.
Adjust the view without changing the PC.
Normal mode keeps the entire video visible. No Margins fills the screen while preserving proportions, so some edges may be cropped. Pinch to zoom from 1× to 3×, move to a cropped part of the image, and double-tap to reset the view.
You can hide the controls without resizing the video. Touch and keyboard input are not forwarded to the PC.

If you cannot see the video
Confirm that the device supports UVC capture, check the PC’s video output, and check camera permission in the iPad settings. If your setup allows it, try without a USB hub and check the capture device’s power requirements.
Email the iPad model and OS version, capture device name, PC or video source, and a description of the connection and problem. Do not include passwords, payment details, or confidential work screens.
